Vacationing in Jamaica
Jamaica is a country that
possesses many tourist areas.
However there are some key
places that everyone should note
when coming to vacate in
Jamaica. I will use this
opportunity to outline and
elaborate the top three places.
The first place we will look at
is Ocho Rios. Ocho Rios is a
place surrounded by a vast
amount of tourist attraction,
from shopping malls specially
designed for tourists, the
famous Dunn’s River Falls,
Dolphin Cove and many, many
more. The location of Ocho Rios
is to the north coast of the
island. It is a main stop for
cruises and as such has a lot of
hotels and resorts. While there
are much smaller beaches at Ocho
Rios than the ones at Negril or
Montego Bay there still remains
a lot of places for you to fully
enjoy a beach vacation however
since majority of the hotels are
located on the coast. Ocho Rios
has a wide array of rivers also
that helps with the amount of
attractions there are, for
example White River Tubing,
rafting, etc.
Negril is the second favorite of
the three locations. Negril is
located to the north western
side of the island and is a
bustling tourist spot. Negril is
famous for the 7 mile long white
sand beach. The beach is in fact
separated into two bays, Long
Bay and Bloody Bay. Long Bay
being the larger one is 5 miles
in length while the Bloody Bay
has the remaining 2 miles of
white sands. For those of you
who love long, white, sandy
beaches, Negril will be the
place for you where you can get
warm, soothing sunshine.
The final place is Montego Bay.
Montego Bay is another location
for arrivals to Jamaica at the
Sangster International Airport.
This city has about 100,000
people approximately and is the
second largest.
Montego Bay offers attractions
such as restaurants, Doctor’s
Cove beach, a lot of malls for
shopping; it even provides more
of the resorts from the past but
new resorts are always coming
out with both old and new
concepts that will ensure that
you get the best of both worlds.
Montego Bay has a wide array of
resorts and hotel that stretch
far and wide with the airport
being a central location. The
big plus for Montego Bay is that
you need not travel far after
passing through customs to reach
to your designated hotel or
resort. Just 10 -30 minutes are
required.
